I grew up in Northeast Ohio and for the past thirty or so years have been photographing the landscapes and wildlife of this area. Early on I would spend countless hours hiking woodlands, ravines and meadows with a 35mm Canon camera but soon upgraded to a medium format system (Pentax 6x7) which gave me the quality and resolution I wanted for my prints.
I spent a lot of time photographing landscapes in the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park which includes a migratory flyway that follows the Cuyahoga River that runs through the park. Every Spring and Fall I would notice all the songbirds, ducks and raptors in the area and soon began focusing my attention and lens on birds and other wildlife....I was hooked!
Most of my time is now spent in pursuit of some of the 400+ species of birds in this area, from the shores of Lake Erie to the marshes of the nearby parks. I've recently retired and plan to visit other areas that also offer great birding opportunities and hope to continue to bring back photographs that I'll share with you here.
